Estate Planning

Estate planning involves determining how a person’s assets will be preserved, managed, and distributed when they pass away. We offer peace of mind by developing an estate plan for you, your family or your heirs, protecting both your assets and your loved ones.

Estate Planning Services:
  • Last Will and Testament
  • General Power of Attorney
  • Medical Power of Attorney
  • Living Will
  • Tutorship
  • Trusts

It also takes into account the management of an individual’s properties and financial obligations in the event they are unable to do so.

A Good Estate Plan Has Five Key Elements:
  • Will

This document controls how a person's assets are distributed among his/her heirs after death.

  • Trusts

A trust is a legal arrangement utilized for the ownership and management of a person's assets for the benefit of one or more beneficiaries without granting the beneficiary full control.

  • Power of Attorney

A Power of Attorney is a legal document whereby one person authorizes another person (or the Principal) in the event the Principal is unable to act for themself. This document can be very specific or very broad and serve a number of purposes.

  • Healthcare or Medical Directive

A healthcare directive is a legal document which outlines a person's wishes regarding medical treatment, particularly in the event they become incapacitated and unable to express their own desires. An example is a "Living Will", but there are several other options.

  • Beneficiary Designation

A beneficiary designation is a simple way to transfer ownership of certain assets, like insurance policies and certain investment accounts, directly to a named individual or entity upon your death, bypassing the probate process. This designation typically takes precedence over a will, meaning the beneficiary named on the account will receive the asset regardless of what is written in your will.

If you don’t have these things in place, we can advise you on an estate plan that will best fit your individual needs.
